Greetings,
Our week here has been going very well. The group is smaller than it has been in years past, but we can see that where they lack in numbers they are making up for in maturity. They are meshing well together (Mexicans and Americans) and seem to really put a high value in serving one another.
The classes have been a real joy to teach. Both Jon and I are noticing that the Mexican students are much more open than they have been before. We think part of this is due to one of the Mexican girls who is on staff. She was a student in the school the first time we were here 4 years ago. She has shown a lot of vulnerability in being open about her struggles and her need for intimacy with God. So it is neat to see how the fruit is bearing from what we planted 4 years ago that is causing more fruit to produce this year at a quicker rate. I prayed with a young man named Omar who shared with me his hurt that stemmed back from his mothers death and how he felt responsible for her death and how God was punishing him for being a bad son. That was just one thing we prayed for this young man and each time we walk him through prayers of repentance and accepting Father’s love he comes away with a big old grin on his face. Its neat to see him becoming more and more free of the guilt and shame and experiencing Father’s embrace. I feel so privileged to share my testimony and see others changed because of it.
Thank you for your prayers. We have one more day of teaching and then we will be leaving for Texas Friday afternoon. God Bless.
